Support-A-Child Beach Party
Support-A-Child Program Director Sarah Bromfield had been looking for an opportunity to reunite the program'schildren after the successful December pool party. Since all Thai students were on summer holiday from school and everyone was sweltering in the unrelenting heat, Sarah knew a beach/playground party would be a great way to get the children together to have fun and cool down. The children came from all over the Phangnga province to attend the party on Bang Sak Beach and Playground. The party commenced at the playground, as the younger children were entranced by "fishing" in the wading pool, while the older children enjoyed playing basketball and badminton. Children of ALL ages loved soaking young and old alike with the many water guns provided. By the time the party moved to the beach the children were anxious to cool off and swim in the beautiful Andaman Sea. Some were nervous, some were excited, but eventually nearly all children got into the water to swim. The children had a great time playing and swimming with their old friends and the new ones they had just met. The party wrapped up with a delicious Thai meal from a local restaurant by the beach. All in all, it was a fun and successful day for everyone involved; from the babies to the grandparents. A special thank you goes out to the high school students from Bangkok Patana School who helped chaperone the party. Surely the children are eagerly awaiting whatever their next 4Kali.org celebration has in store for them! |
